A Simple Secret to Eliminating Body Odor
And the Multi Functional Lime

For 25 years now I’ve been using limes (and lemons) on a daily basis both for refreshment and improving my physical health. I’ve squeezed lime juice onto salads, into my water, and I have used the juice on my face and under my arms.

A dear friend of mine has had terrible body order most of his life and he eats well, so I suggested that he use the juice of limes instead of deodorant. To his surprise, he body odor went immediately away. He knows that even when travels, he can find limes. They even keep him smelling clean when he’s been working in the hot sun for hours.

Limes and Lemons both have an antioxidant and antibiotic effect in the body. One of the nutrients they are high in is vitamin C. And vitamin C assists in building a stronger immune system. The immune system’s main goal is to protect you from illness. My preference is to get Vitamin C through food sources first.

Interesting facts:
1. Dr. Valnet makes the statement that Charles Richet discovered that the lemon juice added 15 minutes prior to eating raw oysters destroys 92% of the bacteria.

2. Cholera a disease triggered by bacteria. Several villages in West Africa where cholera epidemics occur limejuice are regularly used in the main meal of the day for the purpose of protecting themselves against cholera.

3. Another study on the healing properties of lemons and limes is that cell cycles, including the decision a cell makes about whether to divide (called mitosis) or die (apoptosis) are altered by lime juice, as are the activities of special immune cells called monocytes.

4. The USDA researches nutritional values of foods, and they have found that 1 cup of raw lime juice is mostly water, however it contains some fiber, sugars, calcium, potassium, Vitamin C, Folate Acid, Vitamin E and Vitamin K.

5. The pulp left from the juicing is excellent for keeping skin smooth, and can also soothe the bites and stings of insects.

6. Sailors consumed limes as a prevention of scurvy.

Because of the high levels of vitamin C and antioxidant properties are just two of the reasons I like limes. Did you know that vitamin C travels through the body neutralizing any free radicals with which it comes into contact with both inside and outside of the cells? Free radicals interact with the healthy cells of the body, damaging them and their membranes, and also cause a lot of inflammation, and painful swelling, in the body. Thus vitamin C has been shown to be helpful for reducing some of the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Free radicals can also damage blood vessels and change cholesterol so it is more likely to build up in artery walls. Vitamin C can be helpful for preventing the development and progression of atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease. And a body properly nourished will be less likely affected by colds, flu’s, and recurrent ear infections (children are more prone with recurrent ear infections).

So for the refreshing drink, you can add limejuice to some water with a little bit of agave nectar. This is like adding electrolytes to the body, and my body stays hydrated during the day. I’ll squeeze it over papaya, and add it to gazpacho. I’ve placed one drop in an eyecup with filtered water as an eye rinse. And I use it as a toner/astringent on my face. Teenagers can use it on acne. Men can use it under their arms or as aftershave, instead of that obnoxious chemical smell. And women can use some lime (or lemon) juice mix with filtered water for douching. And if you leave home without it, you can get it at any grocery store or bar.

To find such a powerful nutrient in the lime is awesome. Limes also contain limonins, which are potent anti-carcinogens. The sour limes (key limes) have more of the limonins than the sweet limes. Your health does not improve by drinking more coronas because it has a slice of lime in it.

The health benefits of lime include scurvy, digestion, constipation, eye care, piles, peptic ulcer, respiratory disorders, gout, gums, weight loss, skin care, urinary disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, stroke, cancer, colds, flu’s, ear Infections, and it hydrates the body.

Limes, of course, are citrus, so if you are allergic to citrus don’t use them. Also citrus is highly sprayed with pesticides, so eat organic if you can. And if not, wash the outside of the citrus really well.

Few Words of Caution: The seeds of all citrus fruits (and also apples) are poisonous and if ingested in large quantity (even a small handful) can be fatal. So, avoid chewing or swallowing the seeds when you use limes.

Peace, Love and Blessings,

Beth
