(Friday the 13th) – is 13 lucky or unlucky and those who are afraid of 13

Today is Friday the 13th and we are just one day away from moving into the full moon energy. Mark your calendar, the actually full moon date is May 17th, but the full moon energy really begins 3 days before and lasts for 3 days following the full moon.

For most of my life I have believed that the 13th is a lucky day. My Mom’s birthday was on the 13th, and my husband and I were married on the 13th.
The number 13 combined with being Friday has mixed opinions on whether it’s lucky or a sure sign of bad luck. The well known cult classic, Friday the 13th movies depict the bad luck side.

Believe it or not, but there are people around the world that have an irrational fear of Friday the 13th. This phobia is called paraskevidekatriaphobia. And at the center for stress management and phobia institute in Ashville, NC a study determined that an estimated $800 to $900 million is lost on just this one business day – Friday 13th. Why? Because even the most rational people don’t won’t to fly or conduct business as usual on this special day.

I decided to see if there was any good information on Friday 13th, and I couldn’t find any. But if I extracted the Friday part, then there is some interesting facts as well as good luck for the number 13. Did you know? Most tall buildings omit a 13th floor.

Within the Jewish faith, Wiccan and Mayans… 13 is very significant. Boys have their Bat Mitzvah at 13, within a coven a girl can begin to learn magic at 13, the Mayan’s calendar marks 13 day cycles.

Colgate University in Hamilton, NY considers 13 a very lucky number. They were founded in 1819 by 13 men with 13 dollars, 13 prayers and 13 articles. And the university’s address is 13 Oak Drive.

The Coperos religion in parts of Brazil believe that the number 13 will save humanity thus it is considered a God number.

There is lots more than this on the number 13 and, of course, on Friday the 13th. Thirteen makes me smile because it’s all part of God too. So if you have any wee-bee-gee-bees about 13, set out to learn all the good and amazing things about the number 13. Oh, and yes, go ahead and call 13 angels to help you to make the shift to the lucky side.
