Article: Hormone Support – Rhodiola Rosea
There are many adaptogenic herbs, and today I’m taking some time to enlighten you about Rhodiola rosea, also known as golden root and arctic root.
What is an adaptogen? In this case it is a herb that shields the body from stress and depression. How does that help hormones? There are two areas of the body that are the first to be zapped by stress: thyroid and adrenals. If these two start to falter, then other hormonal function will diminish.
Rhodiola is known for balancing cortisol levels in the body by stopping the overproduction of cortisol. Cortisol is known as the death hormone or stress hormone. Yes, another hormone, but one that speeds our path to the grave while increasing belly fat too. Yuck!
What are some of the specifics that Rhodiola does to help us? Improves our immune system, while providing healthier physiological and neurological responses to stress. This amazing herb tells our body, “No worries, I’ve got your back.”
So what else? By improving communication throughout the body and brain, you will naturally think more clearly. And it becomes easier to feel peaceful while reducing belly fat and protecting the heart.
Rhodiola is one of the herbs that I put in my power drink each morning. Over the coming weeks I’ll focus on other herbs that support healthy hormone function while reducing the effects of stress. At the end of these next four weeks, you will have a recipe for an awesome power drink that will support hormone health. Please stay tuned and read each one.
Oh, yes, where do you find Rhodiola? At any health food store, and I buy my through Rose Mtn. Herbs. Here’s the link on my site: http://www.healthyhelp4u.com/products_herbs.asp
Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays.
